The National Bank of Slovakia is the national central bank for Slovakia within the Eurosystem, headquartered in Bratislava in a 111.6 meter, 33-story tower that opened on May 23, 2002 and was, until 2020, the city's tallest office building. Established on January 1, 1993 from the division of the State Bank of Czechoslovakia alongside the creation of the Czech National Bank, it issued the Slovak koruna until Slovakia adopted the euro in 2009; wholly state-owned, it holds international reserves of about 15.54 billion euros as of April 2026.
