Credit Rating Agencies

Credit Rating Information and Services Limited, known as CRISL, is Bangladesh's first credit rating agency. It was incorporated in 1992 with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and began operations in 1995, later gaining recognition as an External Credit Assessment Institution under the country's 1996 Credit Rating Company rules. CRISL evaluates the creditworthiness of borrowers and financial instruments in Bangladesh's banking and capital markets, assessing credit risk for commercial bank loans and other obligations as a recognized ratings provider under Bangladesh Bank's regulatory framework and the Basel II capital adequacy standards.
