Credit Rating Agencies

The Japan Credit Rating Agency, known as JCR, is a Japanese credit rating company established in 1985 that rates Japanese companies, local governments and other issuers, covering roughly seventy percent of Japan's financial companies and sixty percent of its other industrial companies by its own account. It is approved by Japan's financial regulator for use under the Basel II capital framework and holds recognition in a number of other jurisdictions including the United States, the European Union, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia and Turkey.
