RusRating was a Russian credit rating agency headquartered in Moscow, established in 2001 by Richard Hainsworth. It assigned credit ratings to commercial banks, leasing companies and industrial enterprises, rated bank bonds, and conducted research on the Russian banking sector, operating as a closed joint-stock company. As of 2013 it was the smallest credit rating agency in Russia, with about 30 clients and roughly 4 percent of the market. That year RusRating joined Dagong Global Credit Rating and Egan-Jones Ratings Company in forming the Universal Credit Rating Group, an alternative to the major Western rating agencies, but its ownership changed hands repeatedly between 2013 and 2016 and the company subsequently closed.
