International Ratings Group

Credit Rating Agencies

The International Ratings Group, known as IRG, is an international rating agency grouping established at the end of 2005 following a study of the global ratings industry that identified demand for a rating organization focused exclusively on emerging markets in Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, South America and Asia. It was launched by three founding partners, Global Credit Rating covering Africa, Pacific Credit Rating covering Latin America, and JCR-VIS Credit Rating Co. Ltd. operating in Pakistan and South Asia. IRG's mission is to unite independent regional credit rating agencies under uniform rating standards, shared methodologies, consistent symbols and unified branding, with the eventual goal of one cohesive international ratings organization serving all emerging market regions.
