Wikirating

Wikirating was a free, collaborative online platform for credit ratings, launched on 3 October 2011 by the Austrian mathematician Dorian Crede and Erwan Salembier and based in Zurich, Switzerland. Built on a MediaWiki framework, it aimed to offer transparent, community-based ratings of countries, companies and structured products, combining user voting with methods such as the Public Sector Credit Framework and its own Sovereign Wikirating Index, a formula weighing public debt, GDP growth, inflation and unemployment and adjusted by the Human Development Index and the Corruption Perceptions Index. It described itself as the first independent rating platform based mainly on community contributions, and by late 2011 around 2,100 users had taken part before the project ceased operations.
