The Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) is a state-owned Japanese financial institution headquartered in Tokyo's Otemachi Financial City South Tower, established in its present form on October 1, 2008 under a 2007 law as successor to a predecessor development-finance body dating to 1951. Wholly owned by the Government of Japan through the Ministry of Finance, it provides integrated investment and loan services along with consulting to domestic and international clients, financing basic capital investment by Japanese companies at competitive rates in support of the country's infrastructure and economic development.
