The National Development Bank of Botswana (NDB) is a government owned development bank established in 1963 by an act of parliament to fund development related economic activity in Botswana, with recent emphasis on agricultural development and food security. As of March 2017 it held total assets of about 1.4 billion pula, roughly 138 million dollars, and shareholders equity of about 587 million pula. Wholly owned by the government, it is headquartered in Gaborone with branches in Francistown, Maun, and Palapye.
