Cassa Depositi e Prestiti

Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) is an Italian public development bank founded on November 20, 1850 in Turin under Victor Emmanuel II to finance public works in the Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont. Headquartered in Rome and majority owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, with banking foundations and CDP itself holding smaller stakes, it serves as the arm of the government for executing public policy mandates and manages the postal savings system of Italy, its primary source of funding, while financing long term investment at local, regional, and national levels and holding substantial shareholdings in major Italian infrastructure, energy, and financial companies. It is a founding member of the D20 Long-Term Investors Club and belongs to the European Long Term Investors association.
