The Development Bank of Ethiopia (DBE) is a specialized state owned development finance institution supervised by the Public Financial Enterprises Agency of Ethiopia, established in 1909 as the first development finance institution in the country to assist industrial and agricultural development and foster private capital investment for productive purposes. Headquartered in Addis Ababa with 100 branches across 24 districts and about 2,400 staff, it finances commerce, industry, agriculture, and manufacturing to advance the economic development of Ethiopia.
