Development Finance Corporation (Belize)

The Development Finance Corporation (DFC) is the only development bank of Belize, founded on September 27, 1963 and headquartered in Belmopan. Originally privately owned, it was restructured in 1973 into a financial institution owned by the Government of Belize. The DFC provides micro sector, home, student, and productive sector loans covering agriculture, manufacturing, and fisheries, and since 2016 also offers renewable energy and energy efficiency loans, having invested over 160 million dollars between 2009 and 2016.
