The Government Pension Fund Global, commonly known as Norway's oil fund, is the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Norway, established in 1990 to invest the surplus revenues of the country's petroleum sector for current and future generations. It is managed by Norges Bank Investment Management on behalf of Norway's Ministry of Finance and invests internationally across equities, fixed income, real estate and other asset classes. As of mid-2026 it held over 2.2 trillion US dollars in assets, making it the world's largest sovereign wealth fund by assets under management.
