Center for Research in Security Prices

Research and Policy Institutions

The Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP, pronounced crisp) is a provider of historical stock market and investable index data, long used by academic researchers and investment professionals for accurate, survivor bias free market information. It was managed by the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago until February 2026, when it was acquired by Morningstar, Inc., which folded the CRSP Market Indexes, benchmarks for more than three trillion dollars of United States equities, into its own index family. As of 2023 the organization reported more than 600 clients.
