Office for Budget Responsibility

The Office for Budget Responsibility, known as the OBR, is a non-departmental public body funded by the UK Treasury that provides independent economic forecasts and independent analysis of the public finances. It was established in May 2010 by the Cameron-Clegg coalition government following that year general election and given statutory authority through legislation in 2011, and it is described as one of a growing number of official independent fiscal watchdogs operating around the world.
