The Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) is an independent research institute based in Moscow, Russia, founded in 1956 as successor to an earlier institute that had operated from 1925 to 1948. It operates as a non-profit institute under the Russian Academy of Sciences, and in August 2015 it renamed itself the Primakov Institute in honor of its former director, Yevgeny Primakov.
