Stock Exchanges and Market Infrastructure

LCH is a financial market infrastructure company providing clearing services, tracing its roots to the London Produce Clearing House founded in 1888; its modern form dates to 2003, when the London Clearing House merged with the Paris-based Clearnet. As a central counterparty, LCH sits between the two sides of a trade, assuming counterparty risk and guaranteeing settlement across commodities, derivatives, credit default swaps, bonds, repos and foreign exchange, and it has cleared roughly half of the global interest rate swap market. Headquartered in London with a Paris-based subsidiary, LCH SA, it is majority owned by the London Stock Exchange Group.
