The Central Bank of Lesotho is the central bank of Lesotho, established in 1978, initially as the Lesotho Monetary Authority before taking its current name, and headquartered in the capital, Maseru. Wholly state-owned, it manages monetary policy and financial-system oversight for the country and issues the Lesotho loti, holding foreign reserves of approximately 840 million dollars.
