The Central Bank of the Comoros is the national central bank of the Comoros, established on July 1, 1981 as successor to the Institut d'Emission des Comores and headquartered in the capital, Moroni. It manages monetary policy and the banking system across the three islands under a board of eight directors drawn from the Comorian government, the Bank of France, and the French government, issuing the Comorian franc and holding reserves of about 180 million dollars.
