Economic Forums and Coordinating Bodies

Informal groupings of national governments, or cartels of national governments, that coordinate economic policy or production without a standing regulatory charter binding on non-members, including the Group of Seven, the Group of Twenty, OPEC and the World Economic Forum. Belongs here: bodies whose authority rests on voluntary coordination among member governments rather than a treaty establishing ongoing regulatory power. Does not belong here: treaty-based organizations with standing authority over trade or monetary policy, grouped under International Monetary and Trade Organizations.
