Consumers International

Consumers International is a membership organization and international umbrella body for consumer protection advocacy groups worldwide. It was founded on April 1, 1960, as the International Organization of Consumers Unions, and it now has more than 250 member organizations across 120 countries, about two thirds of them in developing economies. It facilitates cross border campaigns and knowledge sharing among consumer advocates, works to promote consumer rights and coordinates product testing and consumer protection campaigning globally. It is headquartered in London with regional offices in Latin America, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, and holds general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
