The Islamic Organisation for Food Security is a food and agriculture organisation and one of eight specialised institutions of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, established by resolution of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers on 17 November 2012 and made a specialised institution on 9 December 2013. It coordinates agricultural policy among its member states to reduce food crises, provides humanitarian assistance during emergencies and addresses desertification, erosion, deforestation and water resource management; 42 of the OIC's 57 members had signed its charter as of 2024, and its secretariat has operated from Astana, Kazakhstan since March 2018.
