The Leading Group on Innovative Financing for Development is a global platform of 55 member countries at differing levels of development, working alongside international organizations and NGOs to promote innovative mechanisms for financing development. It was established March 1, 2006 as the Leading Group on Solidarity Levies to Fund Development and took its current name in June 2009, and its secretariat operates out of the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in Paris.
