The Mekong-Ganga Cooperation is an intergovernmental organization established on November 10, 2000, in Vientiane, Laos, bringing together six countries, India, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, named for the Ganga and Mekong rivers that flow through the two regions it connects. It organizes cooperation in four areas, tourism, culture, education and transportation, through an annual ministerial meeting held alongside the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting, a senior officials meeting, and working groups covering tourism, education, culture, and communication and transportation.
