The Bank of Hindustan, also recorded as Bank of Hindostan, was a bank operating from 1770 to 1832, the third oldest bank established in the Indian region, founded by the agency house Alexander and Company and headquartered in Calcutta in the Bengal Presidency. It provided loans, deposits and related banking, insurance and capital markets services across the Indian subcontinent, and it survived three major economic crises before being liquidated between 1830 and 1832.
