Boursa Kuwait is the private-sector corporate owner and operator of the Kuwait Stock Exchange, the national stock market of Kuwait, which traces its origin to April 1977 and was formally named the Kuwait Stock Exchange in 1983. Boursa Kuwait took over operations on April 24, 2016 as the only stock exchange in the Middle East owned by the private sector, operating under regulation by the exchange itself alongside Kuwait's Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Finance and Central Bank, and it listed its own shares on the exchange it operates in September 2020, becoming a self-listed exchange.
