Business Development Bank of Canada

The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is a Crown corporation and national development bank wholly owned by the Government of Canada, established in 1944 in Montreal. It is mandated to help create and develop Canadian businesses through financing, growth and transition capital, venture capital, and advisory services, with a focus on small and medium sized enterprises. Headquartered at Place Ville Marie in Montreal, it operates about 109 business centres across the country serving more than 107,000 entrepreneurs, and as of 2019 reported total assets of 30.6 billion dollars.
