The C.D. Howe Institute is a public policy think tank based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It traces its origin to 1958 as the Private Planning Association of Canada and took its current name in 1982. The institute says its mission is to raise living standards by fostering economically sound public policy, and it publishes more than sixty reports and holds more than eighty events each year on subjects ranging from business cycles and trade to health policy and energy.
