InvestEU

Multilateral Development Banks and Institutions

InvestEU is a European Union investment programme run jointly by the EIB Group and the European Commission to mobilize private financing for strategic investments across the EU. It was established in 2015 as the European Fund for Strategic Investments, commonly called the Juncker Plan, backed by a 16 billion euro guarantee from the EU budget plus 5 billion euros of the European Investment Banks own capital, and was renamed InvestEU when it was overhauled in 2021. It operates as one of the three pillars of the Investment Plan for Europe, with projects it supports going through the EIBs normal project cycle and governance.
