It provides a technology-driven trading platform for market participants to trade commodity derivatives; its original shareholders included the National Stock Exchange of India, NABARD, CRISIL, LIC and ICICI Bank, and its current shareholders include IFFCO, Jaypee Capital Services and Punjab National Bank, with about 848 registered members and roughly 2 million clients as of July 2013.
