The Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) is a non-profit incorporated futures exchange in Shanghai, China, formed in December 1999 through the merger of the Shanghai Metal Exchange, the Shanghai Foodstuffs Commodity Exchange and the Shanghai Commodity Exchange. Its trading floor is in Lujiazui, in Shanghai's Pudong district, and it facilitates futures trading in metals including copper, aluminum, zinc, tin, nickel and lead, energy products such as fuel oil, precious metals including silver and gold, and natural rubber. It operates under the regulatory oversight of the China Securities Regulatory Commission and is a member of the China Futures Association.
