Export Development Canada

Export Development Canada (EDC) is a Crown corporation wholly owned by the Government of Canada, founded in 1944 in Ottawa as successor to the wartime Export Credits Insurance Corporation, and serves as Canada's export credit agency. It provides trade credit insurance, export financing for Canadian companies and their foreign customers, equity investments, bonding products and market intelligence to support Canadian trade competitiveness, operating from its Ottawa headquarters plus twenty regional offices across Canada and twenty-one permanent representations in fifteen foreign markets, and reported total assets of about 60.4 billion Canadian dollars in 2018 with roughly 1,556 employees.
