KfW IPEX-Bank

KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH is a German commercial bank and wholly owned subsidiary of KfW specializing in international project and export financing, headquartered in Frankfurt. It became a legally independent entity on January 1, 2008 after a 2003 agreement between Germany and the European Commission required KfW to separate its export and project financing activities into a market based entity to address competition concerns over the protected status of the parent bank. As of 2020 it held about 28.1 billion euro in total assets and employed 837 staff, with operations spanning energy, infrastructure, aviation, and shipping through offices in London, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Mumbai, and other financial centers.
