Norfund

Norfund is a Norwegian development finance institution established by the Norwegian parliament in 1997 and owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, based in Oslo. It operates as a state owned private equity fund that receives its investment capital from the state budget and reinvests portfolio surpluses, mobilizing capital for sustainable business development in emerging economies with particular focus on Sub-Saharan Africa, Central America, and Southeast Asia. It maintains regional offices in Thailand, Costa Rica, Kenya, South Africa, and Ghana and is a member of EDFI, the Association of European Development Finance Institutions.
