FMO, formally the Nederlandse Financierings-Maatschappij voor Ontwikkelingslanden, is the Dutch development bank, founded July 8, 1970 through a partnership of the Dutch government, commercial banks, employers' associations, labor unions and private investors, and headquartered in The Hague. Licensed and supervised by the Dutch Central Bank, it is majority owned by the Dutch state (51 percent) alongside major Dutch banks (42 percent), and provides long-term risk capital to private-sector projects in developing countries and emerging markets, focused on the energy, financial institutions and agribusiness, food and water sectors; as of 2025 it managed 11.35 billion euros in assets across more than 85 countries.
