The Financial Market Authority (Finanzmarktaufsicht, FMA) is the primary financial regulatory agency of the Principality of Liechtenstein, established on January 1, 2005 and headquartered in Vaduz. It is an independent, integrated supervisory authority covering all of Liechtenstein's financial markets, responsible for banks, insurance companies, investment firms and pension funds, and licenses it issues can permit companies to operate across the European Economic Area through Liechtenstein's EEA membership.
