National Commission for Competition Defense (Argentina)

The National Commission for Competition Defense (Comision Nacional de Defensa de la Competencia, CNDC) is Argentina's primary competition regulatory body, operating under the Ministry of Productive Development. Founded August 1, 1980 under Law 22,262, its work is now governed by Argentine Competition Law 25,156. It investigates potential competition-law violations, enforces measures against anti-competitive practices, and advocates for consumer welfare on the premise that competitive markets produce higher-quality goods, services and innovation. As of 2020 the commission operated with a president, four members serving four-year terms, and about 91 staff, including 40 attorneys and 25 economists.
