The Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan, LPS) is an independent Indonesian government agency established under Law Number 24 of 2004 and headquartered in Jakarta, which began operations on September 22, 2005 to guarantee bank customer deposits and maintain the stability of Indonesia's banking system. Operating under the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, it has guaranteed deposits, covering both principal and accrued interest, up to 2 billion Indonesian rupiah per customer per bank since 2008.
