The National Financial Regulatory Administration (NFRA) is the agency responsible for overseeing China's banking and insurance sectors, established on March 10, 2023 as part of institutional reforms under China's State Council. It replaced the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission and absorbed certain financial-regulatory functions previously held by the People's Bank of China and the China Securities Regulatory Commission, exercising regulatory supervision and enforcement across most of the financial industry apart from securities.
