The Joint Forum, formerly the Joint Forum on Financial Conglomerates, is an international financial-regulatory coordination group established in 1996 that brings together banking, insurance, and securities supervisors under the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, the International Organization of Securities Commissions, and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors. Made up of technical experts from thirteen countries, it develops guidance and identifies best practices for supervising financial conglomerates that operate across these three sectors.
