CARICOM Competition Commission

Regulatory and Standard-Setting Bodies

The CARICOM Competition Commission (CCC) is a regional enforcement and advocacy body of the Caribbean Community, headquartered in Paramaribo, Suriname. It operates under a mandate to regulate competition and consumer protection across the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), an area spanning member states including Barbados, Jamaica, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname. Its stated mission is to promote and maintain fair competition within the Caribbean Community for the enhancement of economic efficiency and consumer welfare, and its work includes addressing consumer complaints, investigating anti-competitive practices, conducting market studies, providing advocacy on competition issues, and coordinating with national consumer authorities across the region.
