International Chamber of Commerce

The International Chamber of Commerce is a global business organization representing companies and business associations in more than 170 countries, founded in 1919 in Atlantic City and headquartered in Paris, France. Its work centers on setting voluntary rules for international commercial dealings that are widely adopted in cross border trade, resolving disputes, and advocating business positions before international bodies. More than 90 countries maintain national committees that carry the organization's priorities into local and regional business communities, and more than 5,000 member company experts contribute to its policy positions through specialized commissions. The Chamber holds observer status at the United Nations General Assembly and consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and it represents business interests at forums including the World Trade Organization and the Group of Twenty.
