The Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) is an independent regulatory authority established under Qatari Law No. 33 of 2005 to supervise the financial markets and firms authorized to conduct securities-related activities in or from the State of Qatar. It undertook its full supervisory and regulatory responsibilities in September 2007, when those functions were transferred to it from the market itself, and it oversees the Qatar Stock Exchange as the competent authority responsible for market integrity and transparency in trading.
