Becker Friedman Institute for Research in Economics

The Becker Friedman Institute for Research in Economics, formally the Gary Becker Milton Friedman Institute, is a collaborative, cross disciplinary center for research in economics established at the University of Chicago in June 2011 by merging the Milton Friedman Institute for Research in Economics with the Becker Center on Chicago Price Theory. It honors Nobel Prize winning economists Gary S. Becker and Milton Friedman, and it draws on collaboration among University of Chicago units including the Booth School of Business, the Law School, the Department of Economics and the Harris School of Public Policy, currently directed by John A.
