Economic Forums and Coordinating Bodies

The Eurogroup is the informal body of finance ministers from the eurozone member states, created after the European Council endorsed the idea in December 1997 and first meeting at Senningen Castle in Luxembourg on June 4, 1998. It functions as an informal configuration of the Council of the European Union and coordinates economic and fiscal policy among the countries that share the euro.
