Ragnar Frisch (1895-1973) was a Norwegian economist, joint winner with Jan Tinbergen of the first Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, awarded in 1969. He coined the term econometrics in 1926 and the terms microeconomics and macroeconomics in 1933, and co-founded the Econometric Society, shaping economics as a quantitative, model-based discipline. Debated With

Jan Tinbergen, Economists

Why this is disputed. Tinbergen's econometric modelling drew a lively multi-party methodological debate naming Frisch directly; the two also shared the first Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences (1969) for jointly developing dynamic economic models. First direct edge between them on this atlas; both were hollow (in-category only) before this row.
