The Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea is Guinea's monetary authority, established on March 1, 1960 and headquartered in the capital, Conakry. Wholly state-owned, it manages the country's currency, the Guinean franc, and its financial system, and it is a member of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion, having been one of seventeen original regulatory institutions to commit to the 2011 Maya Declaration on financial inclusion.
