Cooperatives Europe

Cooperatives Europe is the European regional office of the International Co-operative Alliance, founded on 7 March 2006 as a nonprofit organisation under Belgian law to act on behalf of cooperative enterprises across the continent and to promote the cooperative business model and its equitable treatment alongside other forms of enterprise. As of 2026 it comprises 84 member organisations from 33 European countries, together federating some 176,000 cooperative businesses that employ 4.7 million people and count 141 million individual cooperators, and it is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.
