The National Bank of Rwanda is the central bank of Rwanda, established in 1964 and headquartered on KN6 Avenue in the capital, Kigali. Wholly state-owned, it sets monetary policy and regulates the financial sector, issues the Rwandan franc, and is a leading member of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion; it held foreign reserves of approximately 1.9 billion dollars as of July 2022.
