Suriname-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The Suriname India Chamber of Commerce and Industry is an international, semi-governmental chamber of commerce working to strengthen economic ties between Suriname and India, and over the long term between the Caribbean region and India. It was founded on 4 May 2018 in Paramaribo with Surinamese and Indian officials in attendance, and a memorandum of understanding was signed the same year at the Surinamese embassy in New Delhi with the Confederation of Indian Industry. The chamber focuses on recruiting Indian companies to establish operations in Suriname in fields including solar energy, information and communications technology, and food and agriculture, and in 2018 it ran an Indian pavilion at the United Caribbean Business Fair in Paramaribo.
