UK Export Finance (UKEF) is the trading name of the Export Credits Guarantee Department, a UK ministerial department and the country's export credit agency, established in 1919. It supports the UK economy by helping exporters win international business and by facilitating overseas investment, providing guarantees, insurance and reinsurance against loss for UK exporters and their overseas customers; its maximum commitment capacity has grown from 26 million pounds in 1920 to 80 billion pounds in the present day.
